Tobias Reifland (born 1994 in Stuttgart, Germany) discovered his passion for the viola already at the age of 7. His teachers include Samuel Mateescu, Andra Darzins, James Creitz and Lawrence Power. He graduated with the Master of Music at the University of Music in Frankfurt. In 2018 he was selected to study at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich with Roland Glassl for the Certificate „Meisterklasse“.
Since April 2020 he plays in the position as solo violist in the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Tobias got further musical impulses in numerous master classes with Atar Arad, Ettore Causa, Bruno Giuranna, Nobuko Imai, Maxim Rysanov, Barbara Westphal and Tabea Zimmermann.
Tobias is winner of numerous national and international competitions. He was awarded with 1st prizes at the Max Rostal Competition 2019, Hindemith Competiton 2017 and International Anton Rubinstein Competition 2016.
As a passionate chamber musician he was invited to the Aurora Chamber Music Festival in Sweden, Menuhin Festival Gstaad, Verbier Festival in Switzerland and the Richard Strauss Festival 2019.
Tobias played concerts alongside esteemed artists such as the Morgenstern Trio, Fazil Say, Daniel Müller-Schott, Salvatore Accardo, Igor Levit, Boris Garlitzky and Daniel Schnyder.
As a soloist he has performed with the Arcata Chamber Orchestra Stuttgart, State Philharmonic of Rhineland-Palatinate, Philharmonic Orchestra Bad Reichenhall and the Hamburger Camerata.
